A constitutional right awarded to all of us, they came and talked to local representatives and elected officials on how they can better serve their Muslim community. Issues brought up ranged from making Eid an official holiday to accommodations for incarcerated Muslims. CAIR and Emgage have partnered on Muslim Capitol Day for the past 6 years to show elected officials that Muslims exist here, will not be silenced, and their vote matters. Members in attendance include Tahya Eldreny and Fareba Amani, who is also part of CAIR working as an organizer. CAIR stands for the Council on American-Islamic Relations and they work to empower American Muslims and help them maintain their rights. For more information visit www.pa.cair.com
