WHAT IS HAPPENING IN BURKINA FASO?

As of 2025, Burkina Faso faces significant challenges, with approximately 27.7% of its population living below the international poverty line of $2.15 per day . The country is grappling with escalating violence and instability, leading to the displacement of over 2.1 million people . This mass displacement has strained host communities, exacerbating existing vulnerabilities and creating a pressing humanitarian crisis.

The ongoing conflict has also severely impacted the education sector. As of 2024, over 80% of schools in conflict-affected regions are closed, leaving hundreds of thousands of students out of class . Burkina Faso’s adult literacy rate stands at 34.49%, with a significant gender disparity: 40.07% for males and 29.12% for females .

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

We support access to religious education in regions where insecurity has disrupted formal schooling. Through madrasas (schools),we provide boys and girls with learning materials rooted in faith and tradition—helping them find stability, purpose, and hope in uncertain times. Our work ensures that even in displacement, education endures. Looking ahead, we aim to expand access to safe learning spaces and assist families with school fees, so every child has the opportunity to grow in knowledge and faith.

WATER

We deliver vital water resources—clean drinking water, water purification tablets, and durable containers—to areas where access to safe water has collapsed. In shelters and orphanages, these resources can mean the difference between health and illness. Every drop we provide saves lives.
