Building Hope in Darfur – The Sudan Project 

Education is the foundation of every society, and yet, it is a privilege that many do not have access to. Sudan is one such country where education is not always accessible to all. However, we have the power to change that, and we can do soby building a school in Sudan. Llah charity has taken on the role of collecting donations to build a school in the West of Sudan, in the village of Kala, located in North Darfur.

Llah charity hopes to raise funds to build and maintain a school in Darfur, a region that has been through some of the most difficult times in recent years. The school will not only provide education to the children of Darfur but also act as a beacon of hope for the entire community. Darfur is a region in western Sudan that has been ravaged by turmoil, genocide, and civil unrest for over a decade. 

The genocide has resulted in the displacement of millions of people and has had a severe impact on the education system in the region. Due to the conflicts in the region, families have been feared for the safety of their children in school. This fear in the early days turned into families stopping their children from attending school due to the unexpected violence that they may encounter. Now more families are encouraging their children to attend school, but the lack of access has been a barrier. 

The middle school that we are fundraising to build will provide education to roughly 100 students ages 11-14 who would otherwise have limited or no access to it. The school will not only provide education but will also act as a community center, providing a safe space for children and their families. The school will be run by trained teachers who will provide free education to the children of Kala. This project will be an extension of the elementary school already built in the area. The people of Kala have been looking for help to extend the school and build a middle school beside Qalam elementary school to support the number of students. 

They don’t have the supplies needed to build the school, your donation will go towards the building process. Qalam elementary school is the only elementary school in town, and it provides education for 300 students. Students would have to travel on a dangerous road, approximately two hours out of town for the nearest middle school. Our goal is to raise 10k to hopefully encourage the education of the next generation.
